Tropical Paradise, Feb. 9, 2013 - On behalf of the WJ Education Foundation, I’ d like to thank the people listed below for a successful fun and fundraising event; the parents, staff, and community who came, ate, danced, gambled and bid with gusto; and the listserve readers who put up with many announcements. We enjoyed music by the fabulous WJ Jazz Ensemble, had a great time, raised some money towards the mobile laptop lab, and saw old friends and made new acquaintances. You can still donate towards this cause through our website. We had an awesome committee, led by Jo Brecher and Seth Meyers, including Wendy Bazil, Trina Leonard , Lin-Lin Mao and Donna Morris. Please look at the long list of donors and patronize them—our committee knocked on many doors and these are the ones that give back to the community and school. Kensington - The Town of Kensington showed its support for Walter Johnson by making a donation of $550 to the foundation.  The Kensington-Parkwood ES PTA contributed $2,000 to the foundation in 2007. The support of the entire Kensington community is greatly appreciated. 

Luxmanor PTA - Many thanks to the Luxmanor ES PTA for its contribution of $2,007 to the foundation in 2007.  At the time Luxmanor was the home of many members of WJ’s classes of 2014 through 2019 who have enjoyed the benefits of WJ’s modernization.

Fire 'N Dice Gala 2011 - The WJ Education Foundation is pleased to have partnered with the WJHS All School Booster Club and PTSA to hold a fabulous Gala and Casino Night at the BCC Rescue Squad on January 29th. "Fire 'N Dice" truly was a community event with parents, staff, administration, alumni spanning several decades, and former parents all coming together for an evening of fun. We thank all who attended, those teams/groups and individuals who made incredible donations-- that included an IPad, a two night stay at a Washington hotel, and wonderful baskets-- and those who helped in many ways. Prize winners were delighted with their winnings, everyone ate well, danced and listened to great music. We appreciate the group effort that made it such a successful event. Many people were involved in a number of ways and we want to thank all of the donors, set-up and clean-up crews, cashiers, and the '05 alumni who served as bartenders and at the game tables. Fall Gala and Silent Auction at the Ratner Museum - The Dec. 5, 2009 Gala and Silent Auction was a Huge Success! THANK YOU to Everyone Involved! Spring Gala 2007 - The foundation’s first spring gala was a success as 148 participants attended the May 4, 2007 showing of Fiddler on the Roof in Walter Johnson’s newly renovated auditorium.  Before the show, the participants enjoyed tours of the new facility led by Dr. Garran and dinner catered by High Point Farm.  The gala raised over $6,500 towards the modernization of WJ.  Special thanks to Stacey Rose-Blass and Marilyn Bagel for co-chairing the evening and Tracey Harris for taking charge of the dinner.  THANK YOU to our Gala Sponsors!
