The WJ Education Foundation, together with the WJ PTSA and WJ All School Booster Club, are concerned that the lack of consistently working electronic communication equipment does not serve our students and our community well. We have heard from students, parents and staff about the need for timely replacement of the following items:
- Updated electronic school sign, no longer works, requires outdated software/hardware
- New score board in the stadium, currently doesn’t keep time accurately
- New scoreboard in the main gym
We are in the process of determining the cost of each item, how much MPCS might cover and how to pay for updating this equipment if we need to supplement what the school system will provide. To that end, we are beginning to plan for fundraising efforts to cover the costs. We will establish a capital fund and hold a silent auction, Winterfest 2023, on February 5, 2023 to start raising funds.
