About the WJHS Education Foundation

The Walter Johnson High School Education Foundation, Inc. was formed in 2006 in order to provide funds to supplement the WJHS modernization funds allotted by MCPS, provide support for professional development for staff, and to assist with student programs.

We have raised funds for the upgrades to the auditorium, the equipment of the language lab, enhancements to the stadium area and new courtyards.

We have funded staff development grants that have supported teachers taking courses in Economics, digital art, and grief counseling and supplemented several teachers in immersion programs abroad. We are committed to financial support for a student recognition program.

The support from our families and community – current parents, parents of children in our cluster middle and elementary schools, alumni from as far back as 1958, and others such as the Kensington 8K Race and family foundations has been generous.

We continue to offer ways to donate and be involved through the purchase of seat plates, engraved bricks for the new walkway near the renovated stadium, or to attend one of our events.

Support for WJ Tops $100,000

SupportOver the summer of 2010, the WJ Education Foundation passed the $100,000 mark in providing support for Walter Johnson High School.
